The Bwa people live across Burkina Faso and Mali. They are known for their plank masks, especially the butterfly and hawk masks. These two crocodile masks are not planks, but beautifully carved and shaped. The female crocodile has a baby on it’s back. The geometric patterns and colours all have a story to tell.
