This is a very unusual pair. Instead of the traditional deities or forefathers, this pair represents typical disobedient slaves, as illustrated by the separately attached arms which probably reflect broken arms inflicted by their masters, or their inability to do a decent job. The pair stems from my friend Abraham who brought it to South Africa from his father’s collection.
